Remote Online Notarization (RON) in New York

Stamp Documents

Remote Online Notarization (RON) allows New York State residents to notarize documents online through a secure audio-video platform. At Net Notary NY, we offer RON services using OneNotary, a state-approved platform that ensures compliance with all NYS e-notary laws.

What You Can Notarize

Not all documents can be notarized online in New York, but the following are commonly accepted:

  • Power of Attorney forms
  • Parental consent forms
  • Affidavits and sworn statements
  • Real estate disclosures (not closings or mortgage docs)
  • Business contracts and verification letters
  • Apostille-ready documents

We cannot notarize wills, codicils, or mortgage loan documents (which often require an attorney or closing agent in NY).

Requirements to Use RON in NY

To complete a RON session, you will need:

  • A valid government-issued photo ID
  • A computer or mobile device with camera and microphone
  • A stable internet connection
  • To pass identity verification via KBA and credential analysis

The entire session is recorded and securely stored in accordance with NYS requirements.

How the Process Works

  1. Start your session: Click the “Start Notarization” button on our site to launch the OneNotary flow.
  2. Upload your document: You’ll be guided to upload the PDF you need notarized.
  3. Verify your identity: Answer knowledge-based authentication questions and scan your ID.
  4. Meet with a notary: Join a secure video call with a commissioned NYS e-notary.
  5. Download your document: Your notarized PDF will be emailed to you right after the session.
